Grounds & Co. are one of the oldest established firms of Valuers, Auctioneers and Estate Agents operating in the eastern area of England. We remain a private family run firm, with the seventh and eighth generations of the original founder continuing the long family tradition.
Originally, the firm specialised exclusively in agricultural matters and estate management, advising the farming fraternity and landed gentry. During the course of the last 50 years the complexion of the firm has changed, and in addition to the agricultural activities, which still form a major part of the practice, we have specialists dealing with all aspects of modern property ownership and are able to offer a complete range of services to property owners, land owners, prospective owners and lending institutions.
Our offices are conveniently situated at Chatteris, March and Wisbech, in Cambridgeshire and in addition to providing a service for the whole of the County of Cambridgeshire, we deal with property related matters in the surrounding counties of Lincolnshire, Norfolk, Northamptonshire and East Anglia generally.
We act for a wide range of established Clients, from private individuals, major land and estate owners, major and minor lending institutions, manufacturing, service, and IT companies, local authorities and County Councils, professional firms and groups including Doctors, Dentists, Accountants and Solicitors, and the major religious institutions (a copy of our abridged Client list is available upon request).
As the area's leading firm of auctioneers we hold regular auction sales of land, residential and commercial properties, general and commercial stock and equipment, agricultural machinery and equipment, live and dead stock and charity auctions.
In addition to the Partners and Staff being members of all of the property
related professional institutions in the United Kingdom, the firm of Grounds
& Co. are members of the Ombudsman Scheme for Estate Agents (guaranteeing
protection for our residential Clients), and the Homelink Property Referral
Scheme.
